A Letter from Max Glazer, Owner of The Shave Cave

In October of 2014, The Shave Cave opened its doors in beautiful St. Pete for the first time. But that wasn’t always our name. Prior to 2014, I’d been running an e-commerce store selling men’s grooming products online (known as Men’s Direct). Business was good, but I was growing increasingly antsy and deep down, I knew why. I wanted to develop a brick and mortar storefront along with my own product line. I wanted to get out from behind the computer screen and start interacting with people again. I was watching the local news and saw a segment that Bay Walk was purchased and going to be redeveloped into the Shops at Sundial. Out of nowhere, I knew that this was my chance; so I went for it. The lease was signed and we launched with the new Sundial. At the time, I saw the business as a physical extension of my e-commerce store (Men’s Direct). However, Diamond’s Direct was already signed next door. So, I changed the name to The Shave Cave, and that’s how this business was born! Fast forward to today and we are the top barbershop in St. Pete. We grew and moved to our current space across from Sundial in October of 2019 and then we expanded again in 2021! It’s all thanks to our repeat customers who keep coming back over and over again and who have helped us build The Shave Cave to what it is today! Why? Because we understand what matters. We know it doesn’t matter how good our beer is (it’s good), Or how cute our dog Jazzy is (she’s cute), Or that we stream Tampa Bay’s local sports (Ayyy Champa-Bay!).
